National Chocolate Day

Welcome to October!   We have several events coming up in the month of October which we think you’ll enjoy.  First, we are planning one Dipping class on
October 24th, and then we’ll try to fit in another Ganache class in November.
There won’t be any planned classes in December; we’ll start them again in
the new year.  The Dipping class is $45.00 and you’ll leave with all the
items you dip (or at least the ones you didn’t eat yet,) and a dipping fork.

We’re participating in two big events in October, which both happen on the same date….October 19th.  First, we’ll be at St. Peter’s Church Pumpkin Fest (59 Main St. in Cheshire.)  This is the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Festival and it will run from 11am until 5pm with a rain date of Sunday the 20th.  We’ll have a table there selling some pumpkin brittle, pumpkin caramel and pumpkin sipping chocolate which is made with white chocolate and pumpkin pie spices.   We’ll also have lots of chocolate bars for sale.

The second event we’ll be participating in on October 19th is the YMCA’s Sunset Picnic in the Park, which runs from 5pm to 8pm at Lock 12.  There will be a boxed picnic dinner, which includes Truffles from Cocoashak.  You can also sample beer and wine, listen to music and participate in a raffle (yes, a Cocoashak gift basket will be in the raffle!)  Proceeds from the $30.00 ticket benefit the YMCA’s Livestrong program for
adult cancer survivors.  The rain date for this event is October 26.  Call or visit the Cheshire Y for tickets.

National Chocolate Day is Monday, October 28th, which is a Monday this year.  To celebrate, we’ll be open from 10am to 4pm that day.  We’re also celebrating by offering 20% off all of our Chocolate!

Finally, we were asked by author Jordan K. Rose to create a truffle to go with her October release of her new book, The Demon Mistress, An Eva Prim Novel.  The novel was released on October 2nd and Jordan will be attending an event called Hallow Read Vampire's Kiss( in Maryland from October 25th-27th.  For the Hallow Read event, Chris created a new truffle aptly named the Vampire’s Kiss.  Dark chocolate ganache with Sangria (which means blood in Spanish) and dipped in dark chocolate.  Look for the Vampire’s Kiss in late October!  In the meantime, you can find out more about The Demon Mistress at or look for Eva Prim on Facebook.

It’s a busy October, so remember….Seven days without Chocolate makes one weak.  (Author unknown.)
